The end of an era. So long, JoJo's Gun Works of Southington, CT

From a FB friend and fellow M4c’er.

As if we needed more bad news today. My favorite gun shop, JoJo’s in Southington, [Connectictut] had been planning for this day for a while and decided to take their shop in a new direction. While I will miss buying guns from them, I can’t wait to try their soup.

Good bye, JoJo’s.

Hello, PhoJo’s. (Pho = Vietnamese Noodle Soup). If this isn’t some silly joke, Jon and Jody are getting out of the gun business (they were exclusively a black rifle store) and going to be dishing out Vietnamese food.

I’ll be sure to swing by and ask for some Glock sauce with an order of summer rolls. LOL.

I mean, ROR.

Sad news. Pho is delicious though.

Is this a joke ? Those guys have a really good reputation.

Pho-king A man!

Pho + 3x orders of extra beef is a nice post-leg day meal though.

Could be worse, they could have opened a nail/hair salon.

Sorry for the loss of the gun shop, if it’s true, their website is still up and doesn’t mention any demise.

But …

Pho = Nectar of the Gods !

Restaurant version:

My homemade version, with rare flank steak and shrimp:

That second one looks very yummy.

negative.

this wasn’t an ordinary gun shop.

it was the unofficial home of connecticut state troopers in southington.

i’m stunned, really.

Well done! I’m also a pho fanatic, and though I don’t have any photo evidence, I also have a personal recipe. It is absolutely my favorite food.

First we were pissed about Walmart putting the little guys under, now its our own government. That’s sad. God bless them in their new ventures, but the old business was probably a little more special.

That’s disgusting. What’s next, government run gun shops? Can’t wait for that mandate.

Damn that looks good! Gonna have to buy some shrimps and cook it in the broth next time i pick up pho.

Needs more sriracha though.

Back to the OP,

I wonder how my local gun shops are going to fare after the mag limit law comes into effect in my state?

Is it possible to sell just the rifles without ANY mags or ship with hi-cap compliance ones?

Thanks. My homemade recipe is less greasy than the restaurant’s, as I skim off the scum/fat when I boil the beef bone for the stock.

I found dozens of recipe on youtube. Just go there and do a search for “how to make pho”. If you have an Asian grocery store, especially one that specialize in Vietnamese spices, they have the magic “pho spice mix” in prepacked tea bags. If not, you can just get the ingredients from the spice section of any large grocery stores.

Enjoy.

I love me some pho with the meat raw and on the side. Today in Manassas in fact…

Same here. After cooling, I remove the fat layer, but I store it and add some fat back into the bowl when reheating/serving. A lot of fat-soluble flavors are locked in that fat.
