Why are lead / coated lead bullets expensive right now?

A few months ago i bought some bare, lubed .45 acp (.452) bullets on a clearance for about 8 Cents each. Around the same time i bought two brands of coated .45 bullets for .11 and .13 each.

Today i go to buy and they are .16 to .17 each.
Plated is .18 each for reference. I don’t want plated…

I got a case of brass-cased loaded .45 cartridges for .36 ea shipped. (Needed more brass)

It’s still worth reloading but…I’m curious why the bullets went up 30% since earlier this year when loaded ammo has gone down.

Not sure, but really I’ve been able to score FMJs and Bulk Hollow points for cheaper than Blue Bullets.

Your observations are correct.

Thanks.

I have found coated lead bullets for .14 C each. Didn’t buy, though. Will wait for a sale.

When the deals on FMJ or whatever die out. The bulk Bluebullets offers where the shipping is free will get you below $0.14
