Is there a right way or a wrong way to install the buffer spring? Saw this on the Ar 15 Forum. Checked out acouple of mine and don't see a differance from one end being larger than the other.

What is that phrase about the flat-rate boxes? Something about it fitting and it is good to go? Similar concept here. Buffer goes in one end, the other end is fed into the buffer tube. Take your pick which one is which.

Just replaced buffer spring in my carbine with a blue Springco Spring. Buffer end was marked / per included instructions. Buffer end makes a difference according to Springco.

I doesn't matter, but I check to see if one end of the spring fits tighter than the other on the buffer and install it on that end. This is just being anal about my guns.
Never has made any difference with the GI buffer springs.
Installing the buffer on the colored end of the Sprinco springs allow you to quickly see which spring you have in your receiver extension.
