Thus far I've found this to be true. The lube does go to slick after the first round. With that said it is sometimes thick/gummy before firing that first round and especially so in very cold temps. What can I say - it stays put. I had a few test sessions last winter when the temperature was in the teens. Zero malfunctions from a BCM middy upper, but I took note of a few things. The ejection pattern for the first round on a cold bore was a few feet forward of the rest of the pile. So does the higher viscosity of the cold lube slow the bolt enough to change the ejection pattern? I'd say a little, but I've not seen it effect cycling enough to cause a first round malfunction as of yet.
I just bought a BCM SBR upper and it comes with a free BCM complete full auto BCG. I am going to carefully prep it and then give it the full Fireclean treatment.

Really? Is this even a lube? Didn't Otis come out with some nonsense like this a few years ago and then drop it for God knows what reason?
I did enjoy at least one of the 2 reviews though, this one:

This stuff is incredible!! I was shooting 2 inches at 100 yds. After following instructions and shooting the 30 rounds, the best I could do was 2 inches or less at 50 yds. The rifle is now at the gunsmith's getting re-barreled.
Appeasement is never the answer in the face of naked aggression.
I shot a few hundred rounds saturday and the frog lube showed itself as soon as the gun was fired. There is no way I was even close to having ANY gum up. If anything it showed like a freshly cleaned and lubed pistol should. Gonna let it sit another week then clean it. See how easy it cleans.

You should see the comments on 4/1 on accurateshooter.com articles if you want good entertainment. It's quite good, and surprising, year after year.
